Ideology of the Later Chola Dynasty

The greater Cholas or later Cholas ruled the Taimlnadu from 9th century to 11th cetury. They have left monuments like the Birhadeeswara temple in Tanjavur, Gangaikonda Cholapuram etc. It is a hypothetical question wheter the Cholas, used the Saiva Siddhanta as their ideology. The shrines created by Rajarajan I and Rajendran I are said to be Samadhi Shrines a great departure from the temple architecture of the Pallava dynasty.
the later cholas, particularly Rajaraja Chola took extraordinary interest in the propogation of Tamil language as opposed to Dev basha Sanskrit.
